Tinnitus Assessment and Management

There are many different causes and presentations of tinnitus, so a Google search often leads to frustration, overload of information, and worsening of tinnitus!

Hann Audiology can help you make sense of what that annoying sound actually is, and empower you with targeted strategies to reduce its loudness and annoyance.

Our consultations aim to get to the bottom of what is underpinning the tinnitus you hear and provide strategies to reduce its loudness and annoyance that are based on research, not a Google search.

ACC

In some cases Tinnitus can be caused by accidents that impact the hearing system. If you believe your tinnitus is caused by an accident or injury covered by ACC in NZ then you may be eligible to make a claim for cover. Please contact us to discuss.

Reduced Sound Tolerance (Hyperacusis) Management

Reduced Sound Tolerance is an umbrella term for conditions which cause annoyance and frustration from sound. These include Hyperacusis, Recruitment, Misophonia, and Phonophobia. These conditions can often lead to very poor quality of life outcomes but their impact can be reduced, in some cases completely.

Paediatrics
Duncan has extensive experience with adults and children with tinnitus and hyperacusis.
"The experience was transformational. Duncan spent a significant amount of the session on clearly explaining the issues around tinnitus. The most important outcome of this process was for me that it debunked the common myth that nothing can really be done about tinnitus. By enabling me to understand how tinnitus comes about and how it works, I was able to fully appreciate the value of the various strategies Duncan gave me to assist with my tinnitus."
